Resolved Question: Is Denver, Colorado a safe place to live?

I'm looking for a place to live in Colorado that is near the Mountains and is safe. I hear Fort Collins,Co is one of the best places to live but doesn't look very mountainous. I'd like to be close to schools and my wife is a nurse so healthcare jobs within driving range would be nice.I want to be able to look out the window of my home and see the mountains but living in a small town is not an option.
